South Korean actor Lee Jae-ryong (61) is currently under police investigation. He was caught driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident in the Gangnam district of Seoul.
According to reports on November 7, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station is investigating Lee for violating the Road Traffic Act. The charges include drunk driving and failing to take proper action after an accident.
The Accident Details
The incident happened around 2:00 AM near Samsung Jungang Station on Subway Line 9. While driving his vehicle, Lee crashed into a central road divider. Instead of staying to handle the accident, he reportedly drove away.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties caused by the crash.
Attempt to Hide and Police Capture
After hitting the divider, Lee did not stop. Reports state that he drove his damaged car to his own home and parked it there. Afterward, he left his house and went to a friend’s nearby residence.
Police eventually tracked him down and found him at his acquaintance’s house. When the police performed a breathalyzer test, Lee’s blood alcohol content was at a level that requires license suspension.
A History of Drunk Driving
This is not the first time the actor has faced legal trouble for alcohol-related driving offenses. In 2003, Lee Jae-ryong caused a traffic accident while driving drunk. At that time, his driver’s license was revoked because he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
The police are currently investigating the exact details of the crash and his route.
