Korean actor Ha Jung-woo recently explained why he decided to confirm his relationship with actress and influencer Cha Jung-won, who is 11 years younger than him.
In a new episode of Coupang Play’s entertainment show “Kang Ho-dong’s Bookstore,” Ha Jung-woo appeared as the first guest and talked about the attention around the dating news. He said he was very surprised, because he felt his relationship was a private matter and not something that needed to be shared publicly.
Ha Jung-woo also said that relationships can change, and nobody knows what will happen in the future. Because of that, he believed there was no need to talk about it early. He added that celebrity gossip may feel interesting to some people, but celebrities are still ordinary people, and dating or marriage should be handled carefully.
However, he explained that the situation became difficult when speculative reports started appearing before either person could share their side. Ha Jung-woo said he worried about how to respond, because if he stayed silent, the rumors and guessing articles might continue.
In the end, he decided it was better to be honest. He explained that dating is not something strange, and he was simply a bit shy about it. Still, confirming the relationship felt like the best way to stop ongoing speculation.
