Netflix’s hit Korean zombie drama “All of Us Are Dead” quickly made its young cast famous around the world. One of the biggest breakout stars is Lomon (Park Solomon), who plays Lee Su-hyeok.
His Instagram fame grew fast
After the show premiered, Lomon’s popularity jumped a lot. His Instagram followers reportedly went from about 250,000 before the release to over 4 million just a little later.
His first dream: becoming an idol
In interviews with Korean media, Lomon shared that acting was not his first goal. He originally wanted to become a K-pop idol because he loved dancing.
Later, someone introduced him to an entertainment company CEO who encouraged him to try acting. Lomon said he started acting almost like it would be “just for fun,” but he soon found it interesting and exciting. He also said he has a competitive personality, so he always tries hard to do well.
His acting career and role model
Lomon began acting in 2016 in the film “Horror Stories 3.” He started using the stage name Lomon in 2020. Right before “All of Us Are Dead” came out, he signed an exclusive contract with Big Smile Entertainment.
He also shared that his role model is Lee Byung-hun, the famous actor from “Squid Game.”
Working again with Cho Yi-hyun
Lomon reunited in “All of Us Are Dead” with Cho Yi-hyun (who plays class president Choi Nam-ra). They both appeared earlier in the 2017 drama “Sweet Revenge.” Actor Yoo In-soo (the villain Yoon Gwi-nam) was also in that drama.
Lomon said he remembered Cho Yi-hyun from before, but she didn’t remember him at first.
Born in Uzbekistan
Lomon was born on November 11, 1999, in Uzbekistan. He explained that he is ethnically Korean and is connected to Koryo-saram (ethnic Koreans living in Uzbekistan and other former Soviet countries).
He moved to Korea when he was around 11 years old. He also said that while he once had the option of dual citizenship, he currently has Korean nationality.
Grateful to be a “rising star”
Because the drama became so popular, many people now call Lomon a rising star. He said he feels thankful but still can’t fully believe it. His goal is to keep acting sincerely, focus on the process, and become an actor with no regrets.
He also mentioned how surprised and happy he was to see an “All of Us Are Dead” ad in Times Square, New York, and said he never expected to be on Netflix or receive so much love worldwide.
