Actor Ahn Sung-ki (안성기) died on the 5th. He was 75 years old. Many people have been visiting his funeral for two days to say goodbye.
Former UN leader Ban Ki-moon (반기문) came to the hospital on the 6th. He knew Ahn Sung-ki (안성기) from UNICEF. Ban said, “I met him many times. He did a lot of good work to give hope to poor children around the world.”
Actress Go Ara (고아라), who acted in a movie with him, cried a lot. She could not speak for a while. She said, “It was an honor to work with him. He was a great example just by being there. He taught me a lot. He was funny and kind on the movie set. I will remember him forever.”
Actor Cha In-pyo (차인표) posted on the internet after visiting. He wrote, “Thank you for being kind to me. I wanted to do something nice for you, but 20 years passed. I only made you a cup of coffee once. I will pay you back in heaven.”
Politician Na Kyung-won (나경원) also visited. She said, “He was a warm person. Even when he was sick, he cared about other actors. He stayed true to his job as an actor and did not get involved in politics. I hope he rests in peace.”
Many other famous stars and politicians visited the funeral. These included Jeon Do-yeon (전도연), Ha Ji-won (하지원), Park Chan-ho (박찬호), and many others.
Ahn Sung-ki (안성기) died on the morning of the 5th. He had blood cancer since 2019. People found out he was sick in 2022 when he looked very thin at an event.
His funeral is at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. The final ceremony is on the 9th. Famous actors like Lee Jung-jae (이정재), Jung Woo-sung (정우성), and Lee Byung-hun (이병헌) will carry his coffin.
