Actor Son Jeong Hyuk has officially joined the cast of The Absolute of Romance, where he will work together with Kim Hyang Gi in the upcoming youth romance series.
The Absolute of Romance is a new Coupang Play series directed by Lee Tae Gon, who is known for popular dramas such as Age of Youth and Diary of a Prosecutor. The series tells the story of a high school girl who writes BL novels about handsome teachers. As unexpected events begin happening in real life, she finds herself at the center of a dramatic and exciting school life.
In the drama, Kim Hyang Gi plays Yeo Ui Ju, a high school student with a creative imagination and a love for writing. The series also features a lineup of attractive teachers played by rising stars. Cha Hak Yeon takes on the role of math teacher Ga Woo Soo, Kim Jae Hyun plays foreign language teacher No Da Ju, and Kim Dong Gyu appears as Korean language teacher Yoon Dong Ju.

Among them, Son Jeong Hyuk will play Jung Gi Jeon, the school’s physical education teacher. His character is a former national athlete with an impressive physique and a strong, confident personality. Because of his charm and athletic image, he is expected to be very popular among the female students in the story.
Son Jeong Hyuk first gained attention when he was cast in a leading role in the Disney+ original drama Soundtrack #2. Viewers praised him for his fresh visual appeal and stable acting performance. After that, he expanded his career by joining the film You Are the Apple of My Eye, proving that he is quickly building a strong presence in both television and film.
With The Absolute of Romance, Son Jeong Hyuk is expected to show a very different side of himself.
