BTS are finally coming back as a full group—after nearly four years away while members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service.
South Korea requires most able-bodied men aged 18 to 28 to serve around 18 to 21 months. Because of this, BTS members enlisted at different times between 2022 and 2025. Jin finished first, and Suga was the last member to be discharged (he served as a social service agent, while the others served in the army).
Now, the wait is over.
BTS announce massive world tour (79 shows)
The group has revealed plans for a huge comeback tour running from April 2026 to March 2027, with a reported 79 shows across:
- Asia
- North America
- Europe
- Latin America
- Australia
That would make it one of the biggest tour schedules ever announced by a South Korean artist. UK fans also have a reason to celebrate: the tour includes two London dates in July.
New BTS album arrives March 20

Before the tour begins, BTS will release their fifth full-length album on March 20.
Reports say the album was created in the second half of 2025 and will include 14 tracks, focusing on the group’s journey and what they’ve experienced together.
Why this comeback is a big deal
BTS (short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, also known as Beyond the Scene) are already record-makers:
- Over 40 million albums sold
- The first non-English speaking group to sell out Wembley Stadium
- The first K-pop act to earn a Grammy nomination (now with five total)
- Major global hits like “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Life Goes On”
- Collaborations with stars like Coldplay, Halsey, and Charli XCX
Fans also noticed comeback clues earlier, including activity changes on their official social accounts. And before the official tour news dropped, BTS reportedly sent handwritten letters to their fanbase—ARMY—to share that they’re returning.
What’s next?
So far, new official group photos haven’t been released, but with an album coming in March and a world tour starting in April, the BTS comeback era is clearly about to begin in a big way.
If you’re ARMY, it’s time to get ready—because BTS are back on the world stage.
